Textes - Texts
PAGES WEB
The long history of the Xanadu® vision of hypertext has inspired many individual hypertext efforts. Some, such as Lotus Notes or the Web, were built by others based on aspects of our vision. Others were created directly by one of the Xanadu development groups -- groups working with Ted Nelson and building on his work in order to realize his vision of hypertext, as well as other goals inspired by this vision. Primary among such software are two systems developed by Udanax.com, back when it was known as "XOC" or "Xanadu Operating Company". These two systems are now known as Udanax Green and Udanax Gold.

PROJETS - PROJECTS
The Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) develop guidelines for the preparation and interchange of electronic texts for scholarly research, and to satisfy a broad range of uses by the language industries more generally. A new TEI Consortium has been formed to maintain and continue the work of the TEI, with a WWW site at www.tei-c.org.

LOGICIELS - SOFTWARES
Windows 95/NT software for creating, editing, checking, and doing other interesting things with files marked up according to the principles of the Text Encoding Initiative.
The suite is a collection of the free software tools that I have found the most useful in my own work, configured so that they'll work "out of the box" and cooperate with each other and with the TEI definition files. Anyone with a basic knowledge of Windows computing and the TEI should be able to install the suite and begin using it with a minimum of trouble. Ideally the suite will allow the work that scholars do more accurately reflect our priorities, letting us spend more time on texts and less on encoding.

JavE is a free Ascii Editor. Rather than for editing texts, it is intended for drawing simple diagrams by using Ascii characters. It is like a graphics editor for editing texts instead of images.
JavE is written in 100% pure Java and so should run on almost every operating system. It is a standalone application and not available as applet.
