EMA-XPS is a hybrid graphic expert system shell based on the ASCII-oriented shell Babylon 2.3 of the German National Research Center for Computer Sciences (GMD). In addition to Babylon's AI-power (object oriented data representation, forward and backward chained rules - collectable into sets, horn clauses, and constraint networks) a graphic interface based on the X11 Window System and the OSF/Motif Widget Library has been provided.

Tkdraw is a very simple drawing tool, implemented as a wish script providing a thin user-interface layer on top of tk's canvas widget. It is fairly primitive, but I actually do use it for simple drawings, producing GIF images for web pages, simple one-page documents intended for fax or printout (ie, memos) and the like.

YADE is an extensible and configurable program for editing different kinds of diagrams. What diagrams are supported? OMT class diagrams Data flow diagrams But the program is designed to be very easily extensible, so anyone who has the time and basic programming experience can create his/her own types of diagrams. For extensions, there is a dynamically typed language(Python) inside the program which gives easy access to all resources that our program or python can provide.

Grap is a language for typesetting graphs specified and first implemented by Brian Kernigan and Jon Bentley at Bell Labs. It is an expressive language for describing graphs an incorporating them in typeset documents. It is implemented an a preprocessor to Kernigan's pic language for describing languages, so any system that can use pic can use grap. For sure, TeX and groff can use it.

xd3d is a simple scientific visualization tool designed to be easy to learn. It can plot 2d and 3d meshes, with shadowing, contour plots, vector fields, iso-contour (3d), as well as 3d surfaces z=f(x,y) defined by an algebraic expression or a cloud of points. It generates high quality vector PostScript files for scientific publications and still or animated bitmap images. It includes the graph plotter xgraphic.
